Trim codes for Model L and K Lincolns
Michael Riley
Hi everyone, I just received my information from The Lincoln archives on my cars. There was some great information on how they were equipped with color and trim, but I do not have any information on the codes and what they represent. I was wondering if there is anyone here that has the code break downs for the paint colors and trim, cloth etc, any help would be great. Thanks, Michael Riley

There are books by Lincoln with the info
And club reprints but not sure if they are currently available

If we want people to keep supporting old Lincolns we need as much of this information as we can easily accessible. This book should be made available again.

I was able to purchase both the Body Parts and the Chassis Parts books form Greg Bilpuch. I use them all the time. The problem remains that the old Ditz-Lac IM codes do not translate to the modern paint codes and using the sample charts, what with reprinting and computer screens in between, are not reliable. Even the cloth and leather descriptions are very hard to track down because there do not seem to be any sample books available to use. My car had some of the original leather in some places but even that will have changed colour over time. It is useful to determine thickness and surface texture.

The company that supplies the photos will match the color

Paint codes are IM numbers usually
Go to autocolorlibrary.com
Go to vintage vehicles
Then the first auto color codes
Here’s a sample
Hope this helps
