Lincoln "K" Technical Questions

1936 K Radiator seal & overflow

My '36 K came to me with a modern radiator cap in place. While at Ernie Foster's shop some years back we had a custom radiator built "to the 1936 K specs" ($$$$) hoping cooling would be handled. Unfortunately, after every drive I have to clean puked coolant off the engine that sprays from under the radiator cap. To add insult, the overflow tube does not seem to be able to handle the volume of circulating. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a gasket of any particular type under the cap and if a workable replacement cap can be found? I have let it barf out coolant and left the cold level down, but it still sprays a bit. Maybe I should try to upsize the drain tube?

Any insight or suggestions greatly appreciated. Lew
