Lincoln "K" Technical Questions

1936 K speedometer cable repair?

Unfortunately, my 1936 K speedometer cable broke about 2 inches from the end that seats in the transmission, and the wound metal cable casing is also partially broken open at that location too. I'm assuming replacement is the only realistic option, but my assumptions have many times proven to be wrong. Any help or experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lew

I have replaced the one in my 35 with this kit off of Amazon. You can probably get it just about anywhere. But it should work as long as your outer housing is in good shape. Mine had a kink in it. I had to straighten the kink out and then I reinforced it with some thin sheet metal on the outside to keep it from kinking again it’s been working well. I’m not sure if this link is going to take you there but if you typed in universal Speedometer cable on Amazon, you should see the kit. It’s basically the cable a crimping tool so you can cut the cable to the right length then crimp a new stop on it. Should work well.

WOW! Thank you very much Lynn, I would not have thought of Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-01-0107-Universal-Speedometer/dp/B00BZ0SW4K looks worth a try!

Very best regards, Lew
