Hello - I'm a new member of the LOC

Hi Larry, Welcome to the LOC. I was just checking the forum and came across the post for the auction at which you bought your car. Former club President David Schultz wrote: "A 1931 Lincoln Town Sedan will be sold at auction on Saturday, Sept. 30 in Monroe, Michigan, at 11 a.m. The car is part of the estate of the late Keith Siebarth, a long-time LOC member. The auction is being handled by Merkel Auction Specialist, Inc." So there will be a number of club people that know about this car.

You will by now have received you first issue of the Fork and Blade where you can find many sources of information to help with restoration and operation of the car.

Also here on our website you will find info sources, many under the Documents section. You can also find club members in your area using the Membership Directory.

Ashley, Thank you for the encouragement. I'll seek out the newsletter editor and see about writing that article.

Congratulations on your new car. You've got a big project ahead of you, for sure. It will look great when completed.

Be sure to keep us updated on your progress. As a new member, contact the newsletter editor and write up a story of your new find.

Hello Everyone,

I just want to share an update on the 1931 Lincoln Two Window Town Sedan. Two friends and I traveled to Monroe, Michigan and hauled the car back to my Northern Kentucky. I rented a 16' box truck to haul all the parts and my friends hauled the car with their truck and trailer. The trip was without troubles. The only problem encountered was not being able to unload the engine from the rental box truck with my friends cherry picker / engine hoist. The engine was too heavy and sat too high off the ground. So, I had to keep the rental truck an extra day and then had it unloaded with a tracked skid loader. I could not have done this without my friends! I am so grateful for their help. I have attached some pictures to this post.

The 1970 Michigan title says the cars is a model "4 Door". The auction description said the car is a model 204A - two window town sedan. The 1939 Ohio title says it is a model 205 - 4-dr sedan 5p. What is the difference between a model 204A and a 205? I'm wondering which model my car is.

I can't believe that I own a 1931 Lincoln. It will take a lot of work to restore. I'm looking forward to the journey and learning a lot along the way.

Hello LOC members.

I joined the club yesterday. Last Saturday I purchased a 1931 Lincoln model 204A two window town sedan at an estate auction in Monroe, Michigan. I have not owned a classic / antique vehicle this old before. I have owned a few from the 1960's. I'm the third owner. The Lincoln is mostly disassembled. The engine and transmission are out of the care, the front and rear fenders are off and much more. It needs a full restoration, something I have not done before. It came with a lot of extra parts. I will be going to get the car and tow it back to my home in Kentucky this Saturday. I have never done a frame off restoration, but I think that is what's needed. My understanding is that this is one of 211 model 204A that were built in 1931 and that 3-5 still exist. I was told that the former owner, Mr. Siebarth, was a member of this club. I hope to learn a lot from my fellow club members and hopefully meet you with my car someday after it is road worthy. I look forward to hearing from you.
