Finally go the motor! Now the work begins
Spent the day getting the engine stripped ready for lifting it out tomorrow.

Today I made some new leather door straps and yesterday I managed to pick the lock on the spare tire carrier. So I managed to change the tire on the car for the first in 45 years.
That is your tool compartment. There ia a tool kit that would come with every new Lincoln. Some were in a canvas wrap with stitched pockets to hold them. Open cars had a compartment in the door for the tools. Look in your owners manual and there is a list of all the tools and pictures of each. If you shop around on eBay, you can find some vintage tools that look the same as the originals. Thats a cheaper way to go about it. an original set just sold on eBay for a price of 750.00 dollars.
I managed to pick the lock on the driver's door today. Anyone know what originally went in here?

I found a large pile of wood going free at the local architectural salvage yard which I am going to build an engine frame like the one in the Lincoln Service Bulletin for Sept 1925.
Yesterday I finally got past the contemplating the long list and getting something done. I had removed my starter on my 31 to test it. A battery and some jumper cables....it works! Took the solenoid apart to discover corroded contacts. cleaned it all up and reassembled it. Cleaned up the engine block and the pan under the starter, put the starter back in and wired it back up. Pushed the button and Life was back in order......so I thought. Now the needle and seat is stuck, but the starter works now. Replaced my broken License plate bracket too. I broke the aftermarket aluminum one by bumping into it. I found an original...much better. We have very nice weather her, so planning to take the 31 for a drive today.
Francis, I laughed at your message. My 29 sometimes has the same malady. Sometimes I think it's when it's not getting enough juice. Funny. Thanks.

This weekend I meditated in my shop, staring at my projects, drinking a cold beer and pondered why they aren't getting done any faster. It was somewhat enlightening. The beer that is, not the exercise.
I have a love hate relationship with the horn on my 29L. I can get it perfect on the bench, mount it, and then...nothing. Tweak the impeller adjust screw, all seems well. Drive down the road and hit the button and a some kind of sound comes out more like a dying goose. I have spent hours rebuilding this. I am going to do some research and when I figure this out, work up a tech article on it.
I spent several hours trying to get the horns on my 1933 working. Horns won
I spent two hours trying to pick the lock on the spare wheel carrier on my 1921 Touring!

or should I say failing to pick the lock....
