Hi Dan, There is a gear on the end of your starter. It may be damaged. There are two reduction gears inside the bell housing which engage the flywheel once the starter generator is running at top speed. The fact that your starter generator "motors over" when the ignition is in the on position is a good sign. You can contact me at (916) 241-5079 (pacific time) or david.clement@sbcglobal.net for more information.

I just purchased non-running 1930 L Model Coupe. When ignition is turned on can hear and see generator turning, but will not turn over starter. Can hear power surge into starter when pushing starter button (Pedal). Have increased amps to starter by direct jumping to starter but still won't turn over. Consider bendix could be stuck? Removing starter looks challenging since connect to water pump ect. Looking to see if there is any suggestions. Thanks, Dan Wilmington, NC
