1935 problem
Author Last Post
thanks for the quick reply.
10W40 sounds good for me too, but our winters are not that cold anymore
I have also read the difference between old 40 and 10w40 is not that big.
I came upon olsongaskets too, and he gave me some advise as well to check first.
Really hope that the aluminium head is not cracked , but we can not know for sure yet
more checking to be done tomorrownight

If anyone has more tips how to check this safely for the car, I would love to hear more

thanks
Beautiful car, congratulations! I've always had good luck with Olson's Gaskets.

Hopefully others will bring up more possibilities as well.

In my 33 V12 I use straight 40 wt but have read many articles, one specifically by Valvoline that 10w-40 will perform the exact same as the straight 40, but also has the extra benefit of the lighter 10 wt during cold starts. I'm sure 30 wt is fine also, I have just always preferred a touch heavier oil.
Hi lincoln Lovers,

Another super car came upon my path ( too soon, but with another big auction Like Den Hartoghs with so many collectable Lincoln your finger just has to be on the trigger)
I bought the 1935 Model K (301body) 7p Sedan. A very beatyfull car, but for most europeans a rather unknown and therfore maybe unloved V12.
I am new at leatst to these engines.
My engine looks really good, no leakages to be seen. But when we started her up the a few times very carefully the oil underneath began leaking a little bit, this was caused by fresh cooling water being mixed somewhere in the system.
We suspect the head gasket on 1 side. Do you guys have other clues where to look for first before ordering new head gaskets? and where can I order them in the states? or can I buy them at the home coming weekend as well? any advise is great.
Another last question is what oil is best for these monster v12's (SAE 30???) would love to hear some experiences from clubmembers
thanks for now, and hopefully I will hget some more info soon.
thanks, Martijn
