Between a job, kids, other projects I may or may not have volunteered for, my progress must seem excruciatingly slow to most of you! But I haven't given up, believe me. I finally overcame my fear of the unknown and attacked the piston removal. It actually went pretty well. I was also pretty shocked when I saw what was left. A testament to the Lincoln engineers in my opinion!
The cylinder looks good. Maybe a small scuff that I'll try to show later. I was planning on just honing it a bit and hopefully finding a NOS piston and rings, and stick it back together and roll down the road. I would love to get some input on this.
Yes, I feel incredibly lucky to have not had a major problem. I figure I drove anywhere from 200-700 miles with it like this.
